First Wave of Class Action Claimants against Folli, executive MoB and auditors were filled today
Hellenic Investors Association proudly announces the filling of the first wave of Class Actions on behalf of 130 of its members for the total sum of 4.000.000 euros.
The Class Actions were filled upon the successful (unprecedented) award on behalf of 56 of its’ members for the protection of their vested interests, upon which the accounts of the company and the other defendants were temporarily confiscated.
The Hellenic Investors Association is going to proceed to further actions, notwithstanding the outcome of the Court Decisions, in order that it safeguards the interests of it’s members.
The Folli Follie Case is an illustrative case study of poor corporate governance, fraudulent auditing practices and a mockery of Supervising Authorities, which have allowed for many years a scandal of such proportions and unprecedented magnitude to unravel without consequences. As the Greek Stock Market is developing and trying to recover from almost 20 years of misery, we will stand at the forefront of protection of investors, foreign and domestic, institutional and private, trying to fill the gap that Supervising Authorities have been inadequate to do.
Finally, we are still anticipating the new Board of Directors of Folli to fulfill its’ obligation, as it was publicly announced, to file the Corporate Law Suit against all those who have damaged the company and its shareholders in such a gigantic and unprecedented way.
As the historical decision of 2419/2019 of the First Instance Court of Athens has provided ample and solid jurisprudence, we are confident that the decisions of the Courts of Athens which will adjudicate the case on its merits will be successful and our members will be duly compensated.
